24FPS is an exclusive annual event of MAAC, and is the most prestigious Awards function for the animation & visual effects segment across the Indian sub-continent and beyond
At the 9th ACEF Asian Leaders Forum and Awards, ‘Gold’ was awarded to MAAC’s 24FPS International Animation Awards 2019, in the sub-category ‘Most Effective Use of Sponsorship & Event Marketing’. Held every year since its inception in 2003, the event has grown from strength to strength, and has become a springboard to showcase talent.
Yet another successful event from MAAC, this time at Joecons Beach Resort, Goa. The National Students Meet 2019 witnessed a whopping number of 225+ students from over 20+ different cities to participate in the event.
Interesting sessions, enthralling workshops, Industry insights and much more packed the 3 day schedule. Sessions by Industry experts like Amit Rane (Director & Masterclass Mentor, DCP Expeditions LLP), Ayan Banerjee (Art Lead, Sumo Games), Nadim Akhtar (Director & Co-Founder, Digitoonz Media & Entertainment Pvt Ltd), Bharat De (VFX Supervisor, Legend 3D) & Prateek Kaushal (Stereo Supervisor, Legend 3D), Philip Varghese (Academy Manager, Technicolor Academy), Praveen Natarajan (Lead Character Artist, UBISOFT), Pranay Agarwal (Compositing Head, DNEG) and Karan Arjun Singh (Founder, Just Foley Studio) imparted immense knowledge and insights covering major aspects of the M&E industry. The exceptional mask making workshop “Behrupiya” by the MAAC R&D team was the finale of the education & learning imparted at NSM.
These expeditions are guided by wildlife photography experts such as Amit Rane & Kane Lew, who also conduct on-field photography workshops for the students.
From time to time MAAC organises nature & wildlife exploration trails for its students in scenic locations such as Ranthambore, Sundarban, Sariska Tiger Reserve,Coorg, Ayodhya, Matheran and Amboli.
MAAC Manifest is one of the largest 3D Animation and VFX seminars, which is generally conducted in Mumbai every year. The event witnesses overwhelming response from MAAC students, MAAC alumni, MAAC faculty and industry experts.
Seasoned industry professionals from leading studios and production houses attend the event to conduct interesting sessions on the current trends of the animation and VFX industry. Not only this, even MAAC alumni are felicitated at MAAC Manifest for successfully completing their course from MAAC and establishing themselves as seasoned professionals in the industry.
100 hours - Creative Marathon is a filmmaking competition at MAAC where participants have to create a 20-25 seconds short 3D animated films in a time span of 100 hours (4.2 days) at a stretch.
100 hours allows students to create teams and compete with each other at inter-centre and zonal levels. Students get expert guidance during the filmmaking process and get to work on a production pipeline from start to end. By Participating in 100 Hours – Creative Marathon students get to witness one-of-a-kind lifetime experience working towards an output of an animated short film. 100 Hours give participants an exclusive opportunity to work with various software and seamlessly integrate to achieve the desired results. The competition also gives them hands-on experience of working in a professional studio-like environment.
